| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Akron Beacon Journal on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the Akron Beacon Journal, for throughout the past one hundred seventy-five years, this noteworthy publication has become known for its timely and informative articles, as well as for its exceptional design, production, and business practices. Established on April 15, 1839, the Akron Beacon Journal is currently the oldest continuously operating business in Summit County; and |
| WHEREAS, Over the years, the Akron Beacon Journal has provided comprehensive coverage of current events at the local, state, national, and international levels, while maintaining the flexibility necessary to meet the changing needs and interests of area readers. Entertaining, educational, and informative, this outstanding newspaper has earned the loyalty of a large and ever-increasing readership, and it has certainly distinguished itself as one of Ohio's finest news sources; and |
| WHEREAS, The success of any newspaper depends largely on the dedication and hard work of its management and staff. For their integrity, skill, and unwavering commitment to excellence, all those associated with the Akron Beacon Journal are truly worthy of acknowledgement; therefore be it |
