A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team on winning a gold medal at the National SkillsUSA competition.

       WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team on earning a gold medal at the National SkillsUSA competition; and

       WHEREAS, All those associated with the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team, including its instructor, Eric Huhn, and its members, Jake Fritz, Nathan Gander, Zach Habermehl, Tommy Hall, Doug Loos, Alex Spade, Nick Zaenkert, and Ben Warman, are deserving of praise for their ability to excel in many pursuits and to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence. The squad devoted countless hours to rigorous training in order to successfully complete its senior project, a reconfigured Dodge truck, entitled "Farm Boy's Fantasy," which was entered into various contests and received a gold medal at the National SkillsUSA competition. In addition, the project will be featured in the March 2013 issue of Diesel World; and

       WHEREAS, The members of the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team have amply proven themselves to be innovative, articulate, and tenacious. They are to be commended not only for their grasp of a formidable amount of difficult material and craftsmanship but also for their poise, confidence, and mental agility. Their thorough preparation was evident at every point in the contests, and they merit praise for their triumph in the face of stiff opposition. To their credit, their genuine passion for learning and effective problem-solving has set a fine example for their peers; and

       WHEREAS, The members of the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team have demonstrated their sincere desire to fully develop their talents so that they might assume meaningful and rewarding roles in the future. We applaud these exceptional students on a job well done; therefore be it

       RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 130th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team on its recent accomplishments and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

       RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ross High School/Butler Tech engineering design team.
