AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," further providing for board of
governors and for councils of trustees; and providing for
board meetings.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Sections 2004-A and 2008-A of the act of March
10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of
1949, are amended by adding subsections to read:
Section 2004-A. Board of Governors.--* * *
(f) All meetings of the board shall be held in this
Commonwealth, which shall be a condition of receiving
Commonwealth funding.
Section 2008-A. Councils of Trustees.--* * *
(e) All council meetings shall be held in this Commonwealth,
which shall be a condition of receiving Commonwealth funding.
Section 2. The act is amended by adding a section to read:
Section 2007-D. Board meetings.
(a) Requirement.--All meetings of the board of trustees
shall be held in this Commonwealth, which shall be a condition
of receiving Commonwealth funding.
(b) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following
words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this
subsection unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Board of trustees." A board with the complete
responsibility for the government and welfare of a State-related
university and all interests pertaining to the university,
including students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
