AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, further providing for transfer of ownership of

3

vehicle.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 1111 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

§ 1111.  Transfer of ownership of vehicle.

(a.3)  Sale or transfer of a vehicle with a suspended

11

registration or title prohibited.--The sale or transfer of

12

ownership of a vehicle with a suspended registration or title

13

within this Commonwealth is prohibited. After the owner shall

14

have paid all fines, surcharges, fees or penalties, the courts

15

shall send a written or electronic notification to the

16

department that all fines, surcharges, fees and penalties owed

17

to the courts have been paid. The owner shall also have served

18

the entire suspension and be notified by the department that the

registration has been restored. Then the owner may complete a

2

sale or transfer of ownership.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
