AN ACT

Providing for a lapse of funds from certain accounts in the

2

General Assembly; and making an appropriation.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

4

hereby enacts as follows:

5

Section 1.  Lapse of funds.

6

Funds shall lapse to the General Fund from the following

7

accounts as follows:

8

(1)  The sum of $2,000,000 shall lapse from the Caucus

9

Operations Account (R) of the Senate.

10

(2)  The sum of $2,000,000 shall lapse from the Caucus

11

Operations Account (D) of the Senate.

12

(3)  The sum of $2,000,000 shall lapse from the Special

13

Leadership Account (R) of the House of Representatives.

14

(4)  The sum of $2,000,000 shall lapse from the Special

15

Leadership Account (D) of the House of Representatives.

Section 2.  Appropriation.

The sum of $8,000,000 is hereby appropriated from the General

Fund to the Department of Community and Economic Development for

2

the purpose of reimbursing counties with full-time district

3

attorneys consistent with the provisions of section 1401(p) of

4

the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), known as The County

5

Code, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008.

6

Section 3.  Effective date.

7

This act shall take effect immediately.
