AN ACT

Amending the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), entitled, as

2

reenacted and amended, "An act defining the liability of an

3

employer to pay damages for injuries received by an employe

4

in the course of employment; establishing an elective

5

schedule of compensation; providing procedure for the

6

determination of liability and compensation thereunder; and

7

prescribing penalties," further providing for schedule of

8

compensation.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

10

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 306(c)(22) of the act of June 2, 1915

12

(P.L.736, No.338), known as the Workers' Compensation Act,

13

reenacted and amended June 21, 1939 (P.L.520, No.281) and

14

amended March 29, 1972 (P.L.159, No.61), is amended to read:

Section 306.  The following schedule of compensation is

16

hereby established:

(c)  For all disability resulting from permanent injuries of

19

the following classes, the compensation shall be exclusively as

(22)  For serious and permanent disfigurement of [the head,

4

neck or face] exposed areas of the body, of such a character as

5

to produce an unsightly appearance, and such as is not usually

6

incident to the employment, sixty-six and two-thirds per centum

7

of wages not to exceed [two hundred seventy-five weeks] four

8

hundred weeks. Disfigurement benefits paid to the injured worker

9

shall be made separate and apart from total or partial

10

disability. A claimant is not precluded from collecting both

11

total or partial disability benefits and a disfigurement benefit

12

simultaneously.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
