AN ACT

Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, in Pennsylvania Game Commission, further providing

3

for organization of commission and for its powers and duties.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Sections 301(a) and 322(b) of Title 34 of the

7

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

§ 301.  Organization of commission.

9

(a)  Composition.--The independent administrative commission

10

known as the Pennsylvania Game Commission shall consist of eight

11

competent citizens of this Commonwealth who shall be well

12

informed on the subject of wildlife conservation and

13

restoration, who are not current or former employees or deputy

14

conservation officers of the commission and who shall be

15

appointed by the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of

16

two-thirds of the elected members of the Senate.

§ 322.  Powers and duties of commission.

(b)  General powers and duties.--The commission has the power

3

and duty to take all actions necessary for the administration

4

and enforcement of this title. In all wildlife management

5

decisions, the commissioners shall be guided by the principles

6

of best management practices utilizing scientific analysis

7

supported by verifiable data with equal regard for the social,

8

economic and recreational impacts of their decisions.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
