A RESOLUTION

Designating the third week of October as "Male Breast Cancer

2

Awareness Week" in Pennsylvania.

3

WHEREAS, Each year, 450 men will die from male breast cancer

4

and the numbers are increasing; and

5

WHEREAS, Men are typically diagnosed at a late stage due to a

6

lack of awareness that men can develop the disease; and

7

WHEREAS, It behooves each of us, men, women, parents,

8

siblings, educators and physicians, to promote awareness of the

9

disease and to save lives; and

10

WHEREAS, We must educate the world to the reality of this

11

disease; and

12

WHEREAS, In remembrance of the many men who have lost their

13

lives or are fighting for their lives, due to a lack of

14

awareness, it is appropriate that we designate the third week of

15

October as "Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week"; therefore be it

16

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the

17

third week of October as "Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week" in

18

Pennsylvania.
