AN ACT

Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

2

Statutes, in revenues, further providing for transfers from

3

State Gaming Fund; and establishing the Pennsylvania

4

Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services Retention Program Fund.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

6

hereby enacts as follows:

7

Section 1.  Section 1408(c) and (e) of Title 4 of the

8

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended and the section

9

is amended by adding a subsection to read:

10

§ 1408.  Transfers from State Gaming Fund.

11

(c)  [Local] State and local law enforcement grants.--

13

(1)  Annually, the sum of $1,500,000 shall be transferred

14

to the General Fund where it shall be allocated to the

15

Pennsylvania State Police for the purpose of enforcing and

16

preventing the unlawful operation of slot machines in this

17

Commonwealth.

(2)  Annually, the sum of [$5,000,000] $3,500,000 shall

be transferred to the board for the purpose of issuing grants

2

to local law enforcement agencies to enforce and prevent the

3

unlawful operation of slot machines in this Commonwealth.

(3)  Any moneys transferred to the board under paragraph

5

(2) that are unexpended and unencumbered by the end of each

6

fiscal year shall be transferred as provided under subsection

7

(c.1).

(c.1)  Transfer to Pennsylvania Volunteer Fire and Emergency

9

Services Retention Program Fund.--

10

(1)  Any moneys subject to subsection (c)(3) shall be

11

transferred to the Pennsylvania Volunteer Fire and Emergency

12

Services Retention Program Fund, which fund is established in

13

the State Treasury.

(2)  Annually, an amount equal to the aggregate dollar

15

amount of volunteer responder retention and recruitment tax

16

credits granted by the Department of Revenue under Article

17

XVIII-D of the act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), known as

18

the Tax Reform Code of 1971, shall be transferred from the

19

fund established under this subsection to the General Fund.

(e)  Transfer to Property Tax Relief Fund.--Monthly, the

22

State Treasurer shall transfer the remaining balance in the

23

State Gaming Fund which is not allocated or transferred in

24

subsections (a), (b), (c), (c.1) and (d) to the Property Tax

25

Relief Fund established in section 1409 (relating to Property

26

Tax Relief Fund).

27

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
