| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Designating the month of May 2011 as "Law Month" in Pennsylvania |
2 | and urging lawmakers, lawyers, judges and schools to |
3 | participate. |
4 | WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Bar Association will launch its |
5 | 12th annual "Law Day" program on May 11, 2011; and |
6 | WHEREAS, As part of the celebration, the Pennsylvania Bar |
7 | Association and local bar associations across this Commonwealth |
8 | will sponsor activities throughout the month of May; and |
9 | WHEREAS, The theme for 2011 is "Freedom Rocks!"; and |
10 | WHEREAS, The celebration is coordinated by the Law-Related |
11 | Education Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and |
12 | funded by the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation; and |
13 | WHEREAS, Schools, attorneys and judges will be encouraged to |
14 | work together to arrange for classroom visits as part of the |
15 | celebration; and |
16 | WHEREAS, The primary purpose of the celebration is to teach |
17 | children about their legal rights and responsibilities and to |

1 | share with them the essence of being an American citizen; and |
2 | WHEREAS, Students of all ages in kindergarten through college |
3 | will have the opportunity to explore the ways in which they can |
4 | have an impact on our world; therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the month of May 2011 as |
6 | "Law Month" in Pennsylvania; and be it further |
7 | RESOLVED, That the Senate urge all lawmakers, attorneys, |
8 | judges and schools to participate in this year's celebration. |
