| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Proclaiming the week of July 12 through 18 19 through 25, 2009, | <-- |
2 | as "Probation, Parole and Community Supervision Week" in |
3 | Pennsylvania. |
4 | WHEREAS, Community corrections is an essential part of the |
5 | criminal justice system; and |
6 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals uphold the law |
7 | with dignity, while recognizing the right of the public to be |
8 | safe-guarded from criminal activity; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals are responsible |
10 | for supervising adult and juvenile offenders in the community; |
11 | and |
12 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals are trained |
13 | professionals who provide services and referrals for offenders; |
14 | and |
15 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals work in |
16 | partnership with community agencies and groups; and |
17 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals promote |
|
1 | prevention, intervention and advocacy; and |
2 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals provide |
3 | services, support and protection for victims; and |
4 | WHEREAS, Community corrections professionals advocate |
5 | community and restorative justice; therefore be it |
6 | RESOLVED, That the Senate proclaim July 12 through 18 19 | <-- |
7 | through 25, 2009, as "Probation, Parole and Community |
8 | Supervision Week" in Pennsylvania; and be it further |
9 | RESOLVED, That all citizens be encouraged to honor our |
10 | community corrections professionals and to recognize their |
11 | achievements. |
