| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Designating the week of April 10 through 16, 2011, as the "Week |
2 | of the Young Child" in Pennsylvania. |
3 | WHEREAS, Many organizations throughout this Commonwealth, in |
4 | conjunction with the National Association for the Education of |
5 | Young Children, are celebrating the "Week of the Young Child" |
6 | from April 10 through 16, 2011; and |
7 | WHEREAS, The theme for 2011 is "Early Years are Learning |
8 | Years"; and |
9 | WHEREAS, These organizations are working to improve early |
10 | learning opportunities, which are crucial to growth and |
11 | development and to building better futures for all children; and |
12 | WHEREAS, Working families need child care and supportive |
13 | employer policies to be able to meet the needs of their young |
14 | children throughout the day; and |
15 | WHEREAS, Young children and their families in this |
16 | Commonwealth and nationwide deserve access to high-quality early |
17 | education and care; and |

1 | WHEREAS, In recognizing and supporting the people, programs |
2 | and policies committed to high-quality early childhood |
3 | education, we can all help to build better futures for all |
4 | children; therefore be it |
5 | RESOLVED, That the Senate designate the week of April 10 |
6 | through 16, 2011, as the "Week of the Young Child" in |
7 | Pennsylvania. |
