Summary

A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 5-3-370 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT WHEN A MUNICIPALITY ANNEXES PROPERTY IN A COUNTY THAT HAS A LAND USE OR ZONING POLICY, PLAN, REGULATION, OR ORDINANCE AND THE MUNICIPALITY DENSITY ALLOWANCE OR REGULATIONS ALLOW FOR A GREATER DENSITY THAN THE COUNTY ALLOWS, THEN THE COUNTY DENSITY REQUIREMENT MUST REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR FIVE YEARS AFTER THE ANNEXATION.

Title

Provide That When A Municipality Annexes Property In A County That Has A Land Use Or Zoning Policy, Plan, Regulation, Or Ordinance And The Municipality Density Allowance Or Regulations Allow For A Greater Density Than The County Allows, Then The County Density Requirement Must Remain In Effect For Five Years After The Annexation.
