A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 59-1-400, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO SICK LEAVE FOR FULL-TIME PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT SUCH EMPLOYEES WHO ARE REEMPLOYED RETIREES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA RETIREMENT SYSTEM ACCRUE AND CARRY FORWARD SICK LEAVE AT THE SAME RATE AND IN THE SAME MANNER AS ANY OTHER PERSON EMPLOYED BY THE DISTRICT IN A POSITION REQUIRING CERTIFICATION, AND TO PROVIDE THAT A DISTRICT MAY NOT MAKE A LUMP SUM PAYMENT FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE ACCRUED BY THESE EMPLOYEES.

Provide That Such Employees Who Are Reemployed Retirees Of The South Carolina Retirement System Accrue And Carry Forward Sick Leave At The Same Rate And In The Same Manner As Any Other Person Employed By The District In A Position Requiring Certification, And To Provide That A District May Not Make A Lump Sum Payment For Unused Sick Leave Accrued By These Employees.
