A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 45-1-15 SO AS TO PROHIBIT HOTELS FROM POSTING OR CHARGING INCREASED RATES DURING THE WEEK OF THE MASTERS GOLF TOURNAMENT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 1, Title 45 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

    "Section 45-1-15.    A hotel may not post or charge increased rates for rooms or other related charges, as compared to rates and charges for the previous week, for any period of time during the week of the Masters Golf Tournament, including any practice rounds."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
