Summary

As introduced, allows a prisoner of a county workhouse or jail to be released from custody on work release or otherwise allowed to leave the grounds of the county workhouse or jail for employment or to perform work in the community without using an electronic monitoring device if the sheriff, with the approval of the county commission, enters into a written agreement with the entity employing or utilizing the prisoner for work in which the entity agrees to accept full liability, including the cost of apprehension, if the prisoner leaves the entity's premises without the permission of the entity or the sheriff while performing work for the entity. - Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 8 and Title 41.
