Summary
As introduced, allows a child to be committed to the custody of the department of children's services if the child is adjudicated delinquent for an offense that would constitute a misdemeanor if committed by an adult and the child has previously been adjudicated delinquent for another listed offense; requires an officer to make efforts to contact a child's parent or guardian when issuing the child a misdemeanor citation in lieu of continued custody, if the officer deems it appropriate. - Amends TCA Title 37 and Title 39.
