Summary

As introduced, prohibits a court, magistrate, or clerk from requiring a corporate surety that is regulated by the department of commerce and insurance to post any additional deposit of security with the court in addition to a bail bond; authorizes a court, magistrate, or officer to disqualify a corporate surety or professional bail bondsman, after which the defendant may request a hearing in which the district attorney general must establish by a preponderance of the evidence that the corporate surety or professional bail bond should be disqualified. - Amends TCA Title 40, Chapter 11, Part 1.
