| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 2A, Code of Criminal | ||
| Procedure, is amended by adding Article 2A.2061 to read as follows: | ||
| Art. 2A.2061. LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES: REPORT CONCERNING | ||
| ARRESTS OF PERSONS NOT LAWFULLY PRESENT IN UNITED STATES. (a) Not | ||
| later than January 31 of each year, each municipal police | ||
| department and sheriff's department shall post on the department's | ||
| Internet website a report on the number of criminal offenses | ||
| committed in the county or municipality, as applicable, during the | ||
| preceding calendar year for which a person arrested by the | ||
| department is known by the department to not be lawfully present in | ||
| the United States. | ||
| (b) The report described by Subsection (a) must include, for | ||
| each arrested person identified as not lawfully present: | ||
| (1) each offense for which the person was arrested; | ||
| and | ||
| (2) the total number of offenses for which the person | ||
| was arrested. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
