BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 6002.159, Insurance Code, is amended by | ||
amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (c) to read as | ||
follows: | ||
(b) The commissioner may not adopt a rule that excludes or | ||
devalues a signed or otherwise substantially verifiable | ||
certificate of training that is: | ||
(1) applicable to the areas of work authorized by the | ||
relevant license; and | ||
(2) issued by a training program or school that is: | ||
(A) nationally recognized; or | ||
(B) authorized under the Occupations Code or | ||
Education Code. | ||
(c) The commissioner may not adopt a rule that requires more | ||
than eight hours of [ |

any license renewal period [ |

SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
