relating to the eligibility of a person to serve on the appraisal | ||
review board of an appraisal district. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 6.412, Tax Code, is amended by amending | ||
Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(e) Except as provided by Subsection (f), a [ |
||
has served for all or part of three consecutive terms as a board | ||
member on an appraisal review board is ineligible to serve on the | ||
appraisal review board during a term that begins on the next January | ||
1 following the third of those consecutive terms. | ||
(f) A person who has served for all or part of three | ||
consecutive terms as a board member on the appraisal review board of | ||
an appraisal district established in a county with a population of | ||
550,000 or more is ineligible to serve on the appraisal review board | ||
during the two-year period that begins on the next January 1 | ||
following the third of those consecutive terms. | ||
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act does not | ||
affect the eligibility of a person serving on an appraisal review | ||
board immediately before the effective date of this Act to continue | ||
to serve on the board for the term to which the member was | ||
appointed. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect January 1, 2020. |
