A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the eligibility of a person to serve on the appraisal
  review board of an appraisal district.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 6.412, Tax Code, is amended by amending
  Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
         (e)  Except as provided by Subsection (f), a [A] person who
  has served for all or part of three consecutive terms as a board
  member on an appraisal review board is ineligible to serve on the
  appraisal review board during a term that begins on the next January
  1 following the third of those consecutive terms.
         (f)  A person who has served for all or part of three
  consecutive terms as a board member on the appraisal review board of
  an appraisal district established in a county with a population of
  550,000 or more is ineligible to serve on the appraisal review board
  during the two-year period that begins on the next January 1
  following the third of those consecutive terms.
         SECTION 2.  The change in law made by this Act does not
  affect the eligibility of a person serving on an appraisal review
  board immediately before the effective date of this Act to continue
  to serve on the board for the term to which the member was
  appointed.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect January 1, 2020.
