facilities. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 11, Education Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 11.005 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 11.005. USE OF RELOCATABLE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES. | ||
(a) In this section, "relocatable educational facility" has the | ||
meaning assigned by Section 1202.004, Occupations Code. | ||
(b) This section applies only to a school district in which: | ||
(1) the district's administrative offices are located | ||
in a building that is not a relocatable educational facility; and | ||
(2) student instruction takes place in a relocatable | ||
educational facility. | ||
(c) A school district subject to this section shall: | ||
(1) move the district's administrative offices to a | ||
relocatable educational facility; and | ||
(2) convert the building in which the district's | ||
administrative offices were located into classrooms for student | ||
instruction. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020 | ||
school year. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
