relating to the creation of a low-interest loan program for | ||
entrepreneurs with physical or mental disabilities. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Title 4, Labor Code, is amended by adding | ||
Subtitle D to read as follows: | ||
SUBTITLE D. ENTREPRENEURSHIP LOANS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES | ||
CHAPTER 375. ENTREPRENEURSHIP LOANS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES | ||
Sec. 375.001. ENTREPRENEURSHIP LOANS FOR PERSONS WITH | ||
DISABILITIES. (a) The Texas Workforce Commission shall establish | ||
and administer a low-interest loan program to support | ||
entrepreneurship among persons with physical and mental | ||
disabilities. The commission shall adopt rules as necessary to | ||
establish and administer the loan program. | ||
(b) The commission may solicit and accept gifts, grants, and | ||
donations from public and private entities to use for the purposes | ||
of this section. | ||
(c) For purposes of this section, "disability" means, with | ||
respect to an individual, a mental or physical impairment that | ||
substantially limits at least one major life activity of that | ||
individual. | ||
SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2020, the Texas | ||
Workforce Commission shall adopt rules necessary to implement | ||
Chapter 375, Labor Code, as added by this Act. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
