A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the duration of a special open hunting season
  restricted to persons under 17 years old.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 61.058(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (a)  The commission may provide for special open seasons
  during which the taking and possession of game animals and game
  birds are restricted to persons under 17 years old. A special open
  season under this section may not be shorter than seven consecutive
  days.
         SECTION 2.  As soon as practicable after the effective date
  of this Act, the Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt or amend
  rules as necessary to comply with the changes in law made by this
  Act.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
