BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 1951.101, Occupations Code, is amended | ||
to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 1951.101. COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP. (a) The committee | ||
consists of nine members appointed by the commissioner as follows: | ||

interests of structural pest control operators and who are [ |
||
appointed based on recommendations provided by a trade association | ||
of operators; | ||

||
interests pest control operators involved in school integrated pest | ||
management [ |
||

||
(b) Members of the committee serve staggered four-year | ||
terms. The terms of four or five members, as appropriate, expire on | ||
February 1 of each odd-numbered year. | ||
(c) Service on the committee by a state officer or employee | ||
is an additional duty of the member's office or employment. | ||
(d) Appointments to the committee shall be made without | ||
regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or | ||
national origin of the appointee. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
