relating to requiring signs at intersections with photographic | ||
traffic monitoring systems and photographic traffic signal | ||
enforcement systems. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 544.012, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: | ||
(f) A municipality shall install a sign at each intersection | ||
at which a photographic traffic monitoring system is in active use | ||
and at which turning right is permissible as provided by Section | ||
544.007(d). The sign must indicate the location at which the | ||
operator of the vehicle must stop the vehicle when facing a steady | ||
red signal to comply with Section 544.007(d). | ||
SECTION 2. Section 707.003, Transportation Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (g-1) to read as follows: | ||
(g-1) A local authority shall install a sign at each | ||
intersection at which a photographic traffic signal enforcement | ||
system is in active use and at which turning right is permissible as | ||
provided by Section 544.007(d). The sign must indicate the | ||
location at which the operator of the vehicle must stop the vehicle | ||
when facing a steady red signal to comply with Section 544.007(d). | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2011. |
