BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 38, Education Code, is | ||
amended by adding Section 38.0028 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 38.0028. IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTIONS AND VACCINE | ||
PREVENTABLE DISEASE OUTBREAKS; REPORTING. (a) The Department of | ||
State Health Services, using the required annual report submitted | ||
by all schools under Section 38.002(c) and any other relevant | ||
resources, shall create a biennial report on vaccination exemptions | ||
and any outbreaks of vaccine preventable diseases. | ||
(b) The department shall make the report described by | ||
Subsection (a) available on the department's Internet website not | ||
later than December 1 of each even-numbered year. | ||
SECTION 2. The Department of State Health Services shall | ||
post the initial report required by Section 38.0028, Education | ||
Code, as added by this Act, not later than December 1, 2016. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
