relating to the delegation of prescriptive authority by physicians. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 157.0512, Occupations Code, is amended | ||
by adding Subsection (j-1) to read as follows: | ||
(j-1) A physician may not request or receive remuneration | ||
for delegating prescriptive authority to an advanced practice | ||
registered nurse or physician assistant. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act applies only to a delegation of | ||
prescriptive authority given on or after the effective date of this | ||
Act. A delegation given before the effective date of this Act is | ||
governed by the law as it existed immediately before that date, and | ||
the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. | ||
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
