A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to display of the Texas flag on municipal historical
monuments on municipal property.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 3100.054, Government Code, is amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 3100.054. DISPLAY ON FLAGPOLE OR FLAGSTAFF WITH OTHER
FLAG: IN GENERAL. (a) A flag or pennant, other than the flag of the
United States, displayed with the state flag:
(1) should not be above the state flag; or
(2) if the other flag or pennant is at the same height
as the state flag, should not be, from the perspective of an
observer, to the left of the state flag.
(b) Subsection (a)(2) does not apply to a state flag
displayed on a municipal historical monument located on municipal
property.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
