relating to the ownership of certain deer in this state. | ||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife | ||
Code, is amended by adding Section 43.3511 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 43.3511. OWNERSHIP OF BREEDER DEER. (a) Except as | ||
provided by Subsection (c), a breeder deer is the personal property | ||
of a deer breeder if the breeder deer: | ||
(1) is held in accordance with a permit issued under | ||
Section 43.352; and | ||
(2) has been permanently and legibly tattooed in one | ||
ear with the unique identification number that is assigned to the | ||
deer breeder. | ||
(b) To the extent of a conflict, this section prevails over | ||
Section 1.011 or 1.013. | ||
(c) Subsection (a) does not apply if the deer is released | ||
into the wild from the deer breeder's facility. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
