BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 372, Transportation Code, | ||
is amended by adding Section 372.059 to read as follows: | ||
Sec. 372.059. PUBLIC SCHOOL BUSES. (a) A toll project | ||
entity may not require a school bus exempt from registration fees | ||
under Section 502.453 to pay a toll for use of a toll project. | ||
(b) This section does not affect the ability of a toll | ||
project entity to adopt policies or rules regarding the use of a | ||
toll project or managed lane of the entity, including policies or | ||
rules prohibiting the use of the toll project or managed lane by | ||
vehicles unable to maintain minimum designated travel speeds. | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
