WHEREAS, Teachers make a difference each day with the energy | ||
and creativity they bring to the education of our children; and | ||
WHEREAS, They help keep American democracy alive by laying | ||
the foundation for good citizenship, and they instill in young | ||
people a love of learning; and | ||
WHEREAS, Filling such roles as instructor, motivator, | ||
encourager, and mentor, teachers continue to influence us long | ||
after our school days are over; and | ||
WHEREAS, Few other professionals touch as many lives as | ||
teachers, and it is indeed fitting to recognize these committed men | ||
and women for their contributions to our state's most precious | ||
resource; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas | ||
hereby designate the first full week of May as Texas Teacher | ||
Appreciation Week; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That in accordance with the provisions of Section | ||
391.004(d), Government Code, the designation remains in effect | ||
until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is passed. |
