A JOINT RESOLUTION
proposing a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right of
every person to keep and bear arms.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 23, Article I, Texas Constitution, is
amended to read as follows:
Sec. 23. Every person [citizen] shall have the right to keep
and bear arms in the lawful defence of himself or the State[; but
the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of
arms, with a view to prevent crime].
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 4, 2025.
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
proposition: "The constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right
of every person to keep and bear arms."
