  initiative; through the years, the club has expanded its scope to
  offer benefits to the families of firefighters, institutional
  personnel with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and
  commissioned personnel with the Texas Department of Public Safety,

  Commission; today, the 100 Club includes a membership of more than
  30,000 and is active in 31 counties across East Texas; and
         WHEREAS, The 100 Club also provides area law enforcement
  agencies with such life-protecting supplies as bulletproof vests

  peace officers earn a degree from one of three state universities;
  since its inception, the group has contributed more than $42
  million in benefits, equipment, and education scholarships; and
         WHEREAS, For more than six decades, the 100 Club has honored
