WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Eddie Higgins is retiring from the | ||
Dallas Police Department on April 2, 2013, drawing to a close a | ||
notable career with the department that spanned nearly four | ||
decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Since joining the department 38 years ago, "Reed" | ||
Higgins has served in patrol in the Southwest Division and has | ||
worked in the traffic unit; in addition, he was an instructor in the | ||
city's police academy; and | ||
WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Higgins served in the personnel | ||
division for the past 15 years; during that time, he has sworn in | ||
more than 25 new recruit classes; and | ||
WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Higgins's dedication, | ||
professionalism, and commitment to the safety and welfare of his | ||
fellow citizens has earned him the respect and admiration of all who | ||
know him, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his outstanding | ||
tenure with the Dallas Police Department; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Senior Corporal Reed Higgins on his | ||
retirement from the Dallas Police Department and extend to him | ||
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Senior Corporal Higgins as an expression of high | ||
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
