| WHEREAS, Robert Vargas of Andrews County Airport is being | ||
| honored as the Airport Professional of the Year at the Texas | ||
| Department of Transportation 41st Annual Texas Aviation Conference | ||
| in April 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Vargas has served as manager of the Andrews | ||
| County Airport since 2010; he oversees maintenance, operations, and | ||
| customer service at the site, and through the years, other Texas | ||
| airports have adopted his practices in such areas as wildlife | ||
| management and property beautification; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Widely respected, Mr. Vargas represents Texas | ||
| Panhandle aviation facilities as a member of the Texas Airport | ||
| System Plan Project Advisory Committee; among his contributions, he | ||
| helps develop strategic next-generation initiatives while | ||
| advocating for the increased awareness of and investment in the | ||
| rural airports of the Lone Star State; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his leadership, hard work, and commitment to | ||
| excellence, Robert Vargas has earned the lasting respect and | ||
| admiration of his peers, and he is indeed deserving of this | ||
| prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Vargas on his selection as | ||
| the 2023 Airport Professional of the Year by the Texas Department of | ||
| Transportation and extend to him sincere best wishes for the | ||
| future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
