R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Shannon Thomas Seaton of Mineola on
  July 17, 2013, at the age of 35, has profoundly saddened the many
  people whose lives he touched; and
         WHEREAS, The son of V. T. and Mary Kathryn Seaton, Shannon
  Seaton was born in Tyler on November 9, 1977; he graduated from
  Mineola High School, where he was a standout in the theater program
  who, as part of an ensemble, competed four times at the state level;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Seaton returned to Mineola ISD's drama
  department, where he was employed as a teacher; a gifted educator,
  he treated everyone he encountered in his work with respect and
  kindness and, in turn, was admired by students and colleagues
  alike; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Seaton drew inspiration from his religious faith
  and was an active congregant at First United Methodist Church in
  Mineola; in addition to teaching Sunday school, he was an active
  volunteer in the church's Christmas food and toy drive and had
  recently returned from a mission trip with the United Methodist
  Army; also involved in civic programs outside the church, he served
  as the master of ceremonies for the Miss Mineola Pageant; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Seaton shared a
  fulfilling marriage with his wife, Tabitha, an art teacher in
  Mineola, and was a proud and caring father to his two daughters,
  Maisy Elisabeth and Madelyn Grace; he endeavored to live his life
  with integrity, and he was seen as a role model by many people; and
         WHEREAS, Although his life ended far too soon, Shannon Seaton
  leaves behind a legacy of morality and achievement that will long
  inspire all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Shannon Thomas Seaton and extend sincere sympathy to the members
  of his family: to his wife, Tabitha Seaton; to his daughters, Maisy
  Elisabeth and Madelyn Grace Seaton; to his mother, Mary Kathryn
  Seaton; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Shannon
  Thomas Seaton.
