WHEREAS, Bobby Teague, a veteran educator and coach, retired | ||
from the Brownsboro Independent School District Board of Trustees | ||
in December 2012, concluding more than a decade of exemplary | ||
service; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Teague was first elected to the board in 1999 and | ||
has served as president for the past three years; throughout his | ||
tenure, he has carried out his duties with skill and dedication, and | ||
in so doing, he has helped to guide Brownsboro ISD into an era of | ||
academic growth and progress; and | ||
WHEREAS, The insight that Mr. Teague brought to the board | ||
came from his many decades of experience in education, which began | ||
with his work as a classroom teacher at Aransas Pass ISD in 1956; he | ||
taught at a number of other institutions throughout the next 12 | ||
years before accepting a position as an assistant coach with the | ||
Brownsboro ISD football program; and | ||
WHEREAS, After only a year, Mr. Teague was named head | ||
football coach and athletic director; he went on to lead the | ||
Brownsboro Bears to a total of 24 wins and 13 losses during his four | ||
years of coaching, including an impressive 9-1 season in 1971; in | ||
addition, he distinguished himself in other coaching positions, | ||
helped establish golf and tennis programs, and oversaw the | ||
construction of a new field house; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Teague went on to embrace new challenges in 1973 | ||
when he became the principal of Brownsboro Elementary School; after | ||
12 years in that post, he accepted the position of principal of | ||
Brownsboro High School, where he served for another 11 years; and | ||
WHEREAS, Once retired, Mr. Teague continued to show his love | ||
for the game of football as an announcer at Bear Stadium; in all his | ||
endeavors, he has enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Myra Jo; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his expertise and unwavering commitment to | ||
BISD, Bobby Teague has greatly contributed to the success of many | ||
young Texans, and he may take justifiable pride in his myriad | ||
achievements in behalf of area schoolchildren; now, therefore, be | ||
it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Bobby Teague for his many years of | ||
leadership as president and as a trustee of the Brownsboro | ||
Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
for continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Teague as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. |
