WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may | ||
comfort those saddened by the death of Donna L. Carey of Robinson on | ||
March 25, 2011, at the age of 79; and | ||
WHEREAS, A native of Illinois, Donna Carey was born on July | ||
30, 1931, to Lenard and Louise Chesser; she married Laylen Carey in | ||
1949, and they shared more than three decades together before his | ||
passing; the couple were blessed with six children, Dennis, David, | ||
Linda, Donald, Maryann, and Patrick; and | ||
WHEREAS, Retired from the U.S. Postal Service, this beloved | ||
matriarch enjoyed bird-watching, visiting the Texas Gulf Coast, and | ||
spending time with her family and friends, whose days she often | ||
brightened with thoughtful cards; she was long active in her | ||
community of faith, attending Gospel Lighthouse Church in Dallas | ||
for many years before joining Grace Baptist Church; and | ||
WHEREAS, Donna Carey possessed a generosity of spirit that | ||
expressed itself in myriad ways, and countless lives were enriched | ||
by her warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Donna L. Carey and | ||
extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her | ||
children, Dennis Carey and his wife, Judy, David Carey and his wife, | ||
Martha, Linda Williams, Donald Carey and his wife, Carla, Maryann | ||
Fields, and Patrick Carey and his wife, Cindy; to her 12 | ||
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and to her other | ||
relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Donna L. | ||
Carey. |
