WHEREAS, Wendell Dee Moore of Lubbock has been recognized by | ||
the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy for his 50 years of | ||
distinguished service as a CPA; and | ||
WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Moore | ||
joined the accounting firm of Pratas, Smith and Moore in 1960; he | ||
obtained his Texas CPA license the following year and became a | ||
partner in the firm in 1963; and | ||
WHEREAS, During the past five decades, Mr. Moore has served | ||
Pratas, Smith and Moore as administrative partner, and he has | ||
assisted with the firm's tax and financial planning practices; he | ||
has also worked in litigation support, testifying as an expert | ||
witness in numerous legal proceedings; since retiring as a partner | ||
in September 2004, he has continued to serve the business as a | ||
consultant; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Moore is a respected leader in his field; he has | ||
served as president of the Lubbock Chapter of the Texas Society of | ||
CPAs, the South Plains Estate & Trust Council, and the Texas Tech | ||
Tax Institute and as a member of TSCPAs committees on tax | ||
curriculum, relations with the Internal Revenue Service, relations | ||
with bankers and bank regulatory authorities, the Texas tax | ||
institute, and public practice curriculum; and | ||
WHEREAS, In addition to his professional activities, Mr. | ||
Moore has benefited a number of civic and charitable organizations | ||
and played an instrumental role in the formation of several | ||
companies; and | ||
WHEREAS, Wendell Moore has distinguished himself through his | ||
exceptional dedication to his profession, and he has truly earned | ||
the respect and admiration of his peers; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Wendell Dee | ||
Moore on being recognized by the Texas State Board of Public | ||
Accountancy for maintaining his CPA license for 50 years and extend | ||
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Moore as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
House of Representatives. |
