| WHEREAS, DuPont is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Corpus | ||
| Christi during 2013; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Located on more than 1,000 acres along Corpus | ||
| Christi Bay, DuPont's Corpus Christi plant began operations in | ||
| 1974, following 18 months of construction; the site produces | ||
| refrigerants, aerosol propellants, foam-blowing agents, and a | ||
| pharmaceutical-grade inhaler; the company built the world's first | ||
| and largest alternative-CFC facility in 1990, and the plant | ||
| underwent further expansion just five years later; and | ||
| WHEREAS, DuPont has demonstrated a strong commitment to | ||
| protecting the environment and works diligently to reduce its | ||
| carbon footprint by minimizing emissions; a charter member of Clean | ||
| Texas 2000, the Corpus Christi site is actively involved in waste | ||
| minimization efforts and has been certified to the ISO-14001 | ||
| environmental management standard for 10 years; the company also | ||
| rigorously promotes safety as a member of the OSHA Voluntary | ||
| Protection Program, and its Corpus Christi facility has been | ||
| certified as a STAR site since 1984; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of four decades, DuPont has made | ||
| vital contributions to the economy of the Lone Star State, and it | ||
| has set an outstanding example of good corporate citizenship in its | ||
| community; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate DuPont on the 40th anniversary of | ||
| its Corpus Christi site and extend to all those associated with this | ||
| dynamic company sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be | ||
| it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for DuPont as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
