WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close | ||
with the passing of Ronald Anthony Maceo of Galveston on | ||
November 13, 2022, at the age of 75; and | ||
WHEREAS, A native of Galveston, Ronnie Maceo was born to | ||
Rosario and Dorothy Maceo on September 20, 1947; he grew up with a | ||
sister, Olivia, and two brothers, Thomas and Rosario, and he | ||
received his education at Allen Military Academy; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Maceo enjoyed a rewarding career as the | ||
proprietor of Maceo Spice and Import Company, which he and his | ||
daughter, Concetta, grew into a thriving, iconic Galveston | ||
business; a loyal islander, he dedicated himself to promoting local | ||
companies and to helping restaurants develop signature flavors; he | ||
was a founding member of the Coconut Grove Bunch and the Galveston | ||
Restaurant Association; and | ||
WHEREAS, In addition to his daughter, Mr. Maceo took great | ||
pride in his son, Frank, and his granddaughter, Precely; in his free | ||
time, he loved cooking and hosting, and he also liked taking trips | ||
to Costa Rica; and | ||
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Ronnie Maceo | ||
will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and | ||
generosity, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their | ||
hearts; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ronald Anthony Maceo | ||
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his | ||
son, Frank Maceo; to his daughter, Concetta Maceo-Sims, and her | ||
husband, Destin; to his granddaughter, Precely Rose Sims; to his | ||
sister, Olivia Maceo Weekley; to his nieces and nephews, Stratton | ||
and Ryan Weekley, Michael McShane Jr., Cassidy Witt, and Corrie | ||
Prestridge; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ronnie | ||
Maceo. |
