R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The city of Houston lost a respected business and
  civic leader with the death of Alex Wang, who passed away on
  April 30, 2023, at the age of 59; and
         WHEREAS, Alex Wang was born in November 1964 in Hefei, Anhui,
  China; after studying in the Department of Radio Electronics at the
  University of Science and Technology of China, he began his career
  as an assistant engineer at the Hefei Microcomputer Research
  Institute; in 1990, he immigrated to the United States and enrolled
  at the University of Houston, where he earned a master's degree in
  computer science in 1997; and
         WHEREAS, The founder and president of Z & ZZ International,
  Mr. Wang designed and maintained websites for numerous companies,
  and he also devoted himself to the online news industry as the
  founder and editor in chief of the World Hall of Fame network, for
  which he wrote many Chinese-language articles that were popular
  worldwide; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to serving the Chinese American community
  in the U.S. and to promoting Chinese culture around the world,
  Mr. Wang took an active role in helping Chinese immigrants succeed
  in the U.S.; moreover, he held leadership roles with a number of
  worthy organizations, serving as secretary-general of the Anhui
  Association of Texas and as deputy executive director of the
  Chinese Civic Center in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wang and his first wife, Zhong Zhang, were
  blessed with a daughter, Winnie Wang; though their marriage later
  ended, he went on to enjoy a richly rewarding union with his second
  wife, Bo Lu, who spent many years working behind the scenes to
  support her husband's media platform and civic endeavors; and
         WHEREAS, The loss of Alex Wang is keenly felt by the numerous
  friends and colleagues that he made through the years as well as by
  the countless people in Texas and beyond whose lives he forever
  enriched; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Alex Wang and extend
  sincere condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alex Wang.
