| WHEREAS, The McAllen Independent School District Business | ||
| Office has been selected to receive a 2015 Certificate of | ||
| Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government | ||
| Finance Officers Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Established in 1945, this accolade is the top form | ||
| of recognition given by the GFOA in the area of governmental | ||
| accounting and financial reporting; and | ||
| WHEREAS, McAllen ISD earned its fifth consecutive | ||
| certificate for the submission of its comprehensive annual | ||
| financial report for fiscal year 2014; in addition to attaining | ||
| this notable goal, the business office has been honored for its | ||
| accounting practices with Leadership Circle Platinum Seal and Gold | ||
| Seal Awards from the Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public | ||
| Accounts as well as with the highest rating of the School Financial | ||
| Integrity Rating System of Texas and a high quality bond rating | ||
| from the Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch credit rating | ||
| agencies; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Keeping transparent records of how public money is | ||
| spent helps to maintain a high level of trust between citizens and | ||
| their government, and the McAllen Independent School District truly | ||
| merits praise for its accomplishments in this worthy endeavor; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Independent School | ||
| District Business Office on its receipt of a Certificate of | ||
| Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the | ||
| Government Finance Officers Association and commend the staff for | ||
| their outstanding work; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the school district as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
