H.R. No. 2440

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mackenzie L. Bates of Euless is receiving the Youth
Volunteer Service Award from the Colleyville Woman's Club at the
15th Annual Caring with Commitment Celebration Luncheon on May 23,
2013; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Bates was recommended for this award by several
of her teachers at Colleyville Heritage High School, in
appreciation of her 72 hours of community service; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud mother Nina Bates, this
inspiring young woman has excelled in her studies, earning an
excellent grade point average and garnering a number of academic
leadership awards; she is a member of the Spanish Honors Society,
and she is preparing for an eventual career as a bilingual neonatal
nurse; and
WHEREAS, Mackenzie Bates has demonstrated remarkable
compassion and determination in her work in behalf of others, and
she is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Mackenzie L. Bates on her receipt
of the Youth Volunteer Service Award from the Colleyville Woman's
Club and extend to her sincere best wishes for success and happiness
in the years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bates as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
