R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Abel Steve Salinas were
  deeply saddened by his death on December 25, 2020, at the age of 47;
  and
         WHEREAS, The son of Rogelio and Ramona Rodriguez Salinas,
  Abel Salinas was born on October 13, 1973, in Corpus Christi and
  spent most of his life in Robstown; and
         WHEREAS, This hardworking Texan enjoyed a successful career
  as a lineman, and he gave back to the community through his service
  as a volunteer firefighter in Calallen; he was uncommonly handy and
  could fix almost anything; and
         WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Salinas was a
  devoted husband to his wife, Maryjo, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned 23 years; he took great pride in his children,
  Gabriella, Julian, Pete, and Daniella, and he supported them in all
  their extracurricular activities, never missing a practice or game;
  as the years passed, he had the privilege of seeing his family grow
  to include two beloved grandchildren, Joaquin and Kamila; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his humor, enthusiasm, and exceptional
  strength of character, Abel Salinas brightened the world for all
  who knew him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Abel Steve Salinas and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Maryjo Salinas; to his children, Gabriella Salinas and her
  husband, Jay Castillo, Julian Salinas and his wife, Katie Pena,
  Pete Salinas and his wife, Chloe Montes, and Daniella Salinas; to
  his grandchildren, Joaquin and Kamila Castillo; to his mother,
  Ramona Salinas; to his brother, Roy Salinas, and his wife, Carla; to
  his sister, Stephanie Salinas; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Abel
  Salinas.
