| WHEREAS, Pamela Garrett of the Amarillo Independent School | ||
| District received well-deserved recognition when she was named a | ||
| Teacher of the Year by the Region 16 Education Service Center in | ||
| August 2012; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The winners of these prestigious annual awards are | ||
| first nominated for consideration by their fellow faculty members, | ||
| and they advance through district selections before becoming | ||
| eligible for the regional honor; Ms. Garrett, who was chosen as the | ||
| Elementary Teacher of the Year, was one of just seven individuals | ||
| from the Panhandle area to be considered for the accolade; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A prekindergarten teacher at South Georgia | ||
| Elementary School, this outstanding educator has impressed her | ||
| peers with her ability to customize lessons to appeal to the unique | ||
| learning abilities of each of her students; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through her creativity, energy, and | ||
| resourcefulness, Pamela Garrett has inspired in her students a love | ||
| of learning that will serve them well throughout their lives; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Pamela Garrett on her selection as | ||
| a Teacher of the Year by the Region 16 Education Service Center and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her | ||
| important work; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Garrett as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
