BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Title 8, Insurance Code, is amended by adding | ||
Subtitle L to read as follows: | ||
SUBTITLE L. FEDERAL PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT | ||
CHAPTER 1691. IMPLEMENTATION OR ENFORCEMENT OF ACT PROHIBITED | ||
Sec. 1691.001. PROHIBITION ON USE OF PUBLIC RESOURCES. No | ||
funds, personnel, or other resources of the state or a political | ||
subdivision of the state may be used to enforce the Patient | ||
Protection and Affordable Care Act (Pub. L. No. 111-148), as | ||
amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 | ||
(Pub. L. No. 111-152). | ||
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | ||
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | ||
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | ||
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | ||
Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
