| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Section 361.153(a), Health and Safety Code, is | ||
| amended to read as follows: | ||
| (a) A county may appropriate and spend money from its | ||
| general revenues to manage solid waste and to administer a solid | ||
| waste program, including a program to buy back used tires or tires | ||
| that may no longer be used for their intended purpose, and may | ||
| charge reasonable fees for those services. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
