proposing a constitutional amendment revising the order of | ||

resolutions after the first 15 days of a regular session. | ||
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
SECTION 1. Section 5(b), Article III, Texas Constitution, | ||
is amended to read as follows: | ||
(b) When convened in regular session [ |

and resolutions, acting upon emergency appropriations, passing | ||
upon the confirmation of the recess appointees of the Governor and | ||
such emergency matters as may be submitted by the Governor in | ||
special messages to the Legislature. During the remainder | ||

||
hearings to consider all bills, [ |
||
matters then pending[ |
||
submitted by the Governor, and [ |
||
|
||
as may be then pending and upon such emergency matters as may be | ||
submitted by the Governor in special messages to the Legislature. | ||
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | ||
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 8, 2011. | ||
The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | ||
proposition: "The constitutional amendment revising the order of | ||
legislative business to permit either house to act on bills and | ||
resolutions after the first 15 days of a regular session." |
